What is staging?
A staging site is a private copy of your live WordPress site. You test updates, new plugins, and design changes without affecting visitors.
Create staging with Softaculous
- Open cPanel → Softaculous → WordPress Manager.
- Select your live installation and click Create Staging.
- Choose a subdomain (e.g. staging.yourdomain.com) or subdirectory.
- Wait for the clone to complete — files and database are copied automatically.
- Log in to the staging /wp-admin and make your changes.
Push changes live
When satisfied, use Softaculous Push to Live to copy staging changes back to production. Always take a JetBackup snapshot before pushing.
