    The 10 quickest wins

    1. Install LiteSpeed Cache (free) and enable all default options.
    2. Turn on Object Cache (Memcached/Redis) from cPanel.
    3. Compress images with the LiteSpeed image optimization service.
    4. Convert images to WebP — LSCache can do this automatically.
    5. Use a lightweight theme (Astra/Kadence/GeneratePress).
    6. Limit plugins to what you actually use; deactivate the rest.
    7. Enable CDN (Cloudflare free tier is enough for most sites).
    8. Upgrade to PHP 8.2 or 8.3 from cPanel → MultiPHP Manager.
    9. Disable WordPress Heartbeat on the dashboard (it idles CPU).
    10. Use a database cleaner plugin monthly (WP-Optimize).
